Prayers during this week:

Pray for the Church of England Guild of Vergers, and give thanks for the work and devotion who carry out this important task;

Pray for the Church of the Province of Central Africa, and the Most Revd. Albert Chama, Archbishop;

 for those in Lower Chase (A); The Avenue & Church Rd (NF);

 those who are unwell: David H; Richard N; David H; those known to us personally, and the family and friends of those who have recently died including  Kay, Beryl  and Janet.

Wed. 20th: 9.30 a.m. BCP Comm (A); 11 a.m. Funeral (Crem) followed by 12.30 Memorial Service (NF); 7.45 p.m. Bible Study.

Thu.21st: 8.30 Clergy breakfast/meeting (Maldon Unit) then SM free.

Fri. 22nd:  SM free day except 11.30 a.m. Funeral (Crem).

Sat. 23rd: 11 a.m.—3 p.m. A Bit of A Do—Althorne church hall

Sun. 24th: (Next before Lent): 10 a.m. Joint Communion (SMM);

Ash Wednesday (March 6th) Services will be at Althorne 9.30 a.m. and Stow Maries 7.30 p.m. Optional ashing at both. Please try to come to one of these services. Stow Maries—you will need to park on Church Lane.

Lent begins on 6th March. If any of our parishes wish to collect for WaterAid, please let Revd. Sandra know by 20th February (this Wednesday) so that necessary materials, posters etc can be order in time. So far, one parish has shown interest.

Bradwell Area Vocations Day is being held on Saturday 23rd March 9 a.m.—3.30 p.m. at Meadgate church, Chelmsford CM2 7NS.  More information and booking details on poster in each church. You must book by Friday of this week (22nd).

Everyone who is on the church electoral roll (or who wishes to be) MUST complete a new roll application form—this is the year of the six-yearly renewal and no-one can be carried forward. Look out in your church for the notice of renewal, and give your completed form to your Parish Electoral Officer (A=Hayley, CN=Chris, NF=Ken, SMM=Brian). PCC members should be preparing contributions for the Annual Report—don’t leave it to the last minute :-) ALTHORNE Electoral Roll will be closed from 17th February for renewal so make sure you get your new form to Hayley.

A Bit of a Do 11 a.m.—3 p.m.23rd  February in A church hall. All welcome, Refreshments available.

Communion Assistant A new assistant is needed for Althorne, preferably available mid-week. See Revd. Sandra or the wardens.

Bradwell Pilgrimage is on July 6th, 10.30 a.m.—3.45 p.m. at St.Peter’s Bradwell. Further details nearer the time, but you might like to put it your diary now.

Wardens (current and potential): The Archdeacon’s Visitation will this year be on 14th May (for the whole Chelmsford archdeaconry) - please mark this in your diary.
