Collect: Let your merciful ears, O Lord, be open to the prayers of your humble servants; and that they may obtain their petitions make them to ask such things as shall please you; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Thu. 24th:  2pm Funeral of John Butterfield (Latchingdon) at Basildon (Bowers Gifford) Crematorium

Sun. 27th (11th after Trinity): 10 a.m. Joint Parishes’ Communion (CN) - please share transport if possible due to limited parking.

Crouch Valley Courier– there is a named copy for you at the back of the church, or with your warden. It is rather a ‘thin’ copy due to lack of contributions—but thank you to those who did contribute. The  Month is also now available.

Cycle Ride  & Book Sale at Althorne (Friends of Essex churches) on Sat. Sept. 9th.

Race Evening on Oct 6th in the Smythe Hall. Ticket (£7.50)(Janis and Colin 828505) price includes supper, but bring-your-own drink, and money for placing bets.

CCS online at last! A number of people have said during the years that they would like to learn more but didn’t want to travel to CCS (Course in Christian Studies). Please see Revd. Sandra for details, also if you are interested in doing CCS with a group at Burnham.
